# Export | PIM to ecommerce

Exporting data from your PIM to input in an external system (ERP, e-commerce website, etc.) is a common need for PIM users.

You can export your PIM data through two main methods:

by using CSV or XLS files, via your PIM interface,
by using the API to export your data.

We recommend you to use the XLS or CSV files method for large exports, to not be limited by API quotas. You can also use a combination of methods to better suit your needs.
